Re: Talk by Philip Marvin 14/12/2015

So yet another swipe at Hungerford Group! It should be obvious that the question ‘What is Self-realisation?’, is simply another formulation of Ramana Maharshi’s famous question ‘Who Am I?’ – the question that the Shankaracharya said led to Ramana’s realisation. As any genuine teacher knows, no words...

Re: Remembering the Self

Hello Dr Ali. Welcome to the forum. Yes, there certainly are many different descriptions of Self-remembering. I think there may be two reasons for this. Re: From Mexico

Hi Wendy
Great to see you posting on the forum again. I hope it will encourage Anguille to get in touch again. I am learning a Bach Partita and Haydn sonata - one of his later ones and full of fun.

There was a lovely article from Mexico in the latest edition of Contact.

Re: A hello.....or should that be an?

Hi David
Here are some general ideas in answer to all your questions:
  1. Practice makes perfect that which is already perfect.
  2. Most questions (especially yours) contain their own answers.
  3. Be still.

Post Meeting Note – some questions and a correction

When compiling this paper, I had originally taken the quote from Wei Wu Wei to mean ‘It is very easy (but not inevitable) for a school to become “an efficient instrument for reinforcing the stranglehold of the so-called ego.”’ But is it possible that Wei Wu Wei is exactly right and that in fact scho...

Re: Rest - last week's exercise

At the next meeting we discussed people’s experiences of the exercise set last time: Each time you feel that you have come to the end of an activity, completely pause for 1-3 minutes. Typical times are: Before preparing a meal, before eating a meal, before going to sleep, after waking up in the morn...
